Dr. Dana Brems, a native of Southern California, completed her bachelor's degree majoring in biology and environmental science at Whittier College before embarking on her journey to become a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona. After completing the rigorous four-year curriculum, she was selected for a prestigious three-year surgical residency program at MemorialCare Long Beach. During this time, Dr. Dana was exposed to a wide variety of foot and ankle pathologies and underwent extensive training in elective and trauma surgery at this Level 2 trauma center. Her additional training at the nearby Veterans hospital emphasized limb-preservation and wound care, particularly for patients with diabetes. Notably, Dr. Dana has trained with renowned Los Angeles podiatrists and employs innovative cosmetic surgical techniques to minimize scarring and postoperative swelling. While her expertise includes surgical intervention, she prioritizes non-surgical approaches as the first-line of therapy whenever possible. Dr. Dana's guiding philosophy is to treat every patient with the same level of care and compassion she would want for her own family members.
